Filling up the pages to make their thesis longer, students forget the main idea of thesis and use that information which can be irrelevant and hence it may let down the quality of thesis. It may be used in such way that supervisor may not like it to see in that way and hence soon  supervisor may become irritate while reading the thesis and can mark it low quality thesis which will be useless and will not give you enough marks to pass your degree. Hence this becomes necessary not to use irrelevant information which may not be necessary for your thesis. Avoiding such things will be a good manner to write and present your thesis.
